The continuity of the wiki would be underwritten by the efforts of volunteers drawn principally from the ranks of information departments of the larger legal practices, from academe and from regular users of the wiki. Volunteer input has proved to be a viable prospect in the development of wikis, Wikipedia being the most well-known example. In this context it should be recognised that legal practices will enjoy a considerable degree of cost-saving once the wiki is functional, in terms of time saved, the reduced need to purchase hard copy and the increased efficiency that comes from the swift and easy availability of accurate and current legal information.
